STEPHEN RICHARDSON...

...grew up in the musical trappings of the Salvation Army, where his father was the conductor of the brass band for 40 years. He learnt piano, and played cornet in the brass band from a young age, and these early experiences were to provide Stephen with the basis of his musical training. Stephen went on to study his Bachelors in Music at Kingston University, combined with a year spent studying advanced film-scoring with film & TV composer, Perry LaMarca, at California State University Long Beach in Los Angeles.

In 2012 Stephen completed his Masters with Distinction in Music Composition at Salford University, under the tutelage of world-renowned brass composer, Peter Graham. While at Salford Stephen had his first works published, and was a finallist with his composition, Legacy of Dreams (Studio Music) for a wind band competition in association the the RAF Central Band. He later won 1st place with his composition, Ascension (Kirklees Music), for outstanding composition for brass band.

Stephen now writes music for visual media and theatre with up and coming film-makers and Media City organisations, as well as for many of his own personal projects.
